My Mother Before Me is a unique crowd-sourced project created for the film "20th Century Women" that centers on mothers and mother-figures. On this website, participants are invited to submit portraits of their own mothers who were born during the period, and current and future visitors can browse an interactive gallery of the photographs.

Follow the steps in this guide to prepare and upload your image to the "20th Century Women" gallery. [Difficulty: Very Easy]
Step 1 Open the website in a desktop browser (Chrome used below)
Open this link, My Mother Before Me — 20th Century Women, in your browser, then select the button, "Add Your Mother".
Step 2 Upload a Favorite Photo of Mom
Click on the "+" symbol.
Browse to a favorite photo (in JPG format) to upload.
Choose the appropriate decade for the photo.
Step 3 Personalize the Photo with a Message
Click on the "First Name" field, enter up to 30 characters.
Enter a short tribute, fond memory or other text description in the remaining field, which can be a maximum of 200 characters.
Proofread your message as there is no way to edit the text following submission. When you're ready, select the OK button to submit your mom to the gallery.
